Thought we could start a listing of campgrounds that are pet friendly. Not just because they say they are in their advertising, but because you have stayed there and know for a fact that they are pet friendly. Might make it a little easier for us with pets to find new campgrounds to stay at.

These are the one's I can think of now:

Pioneer Park
Laurel Hill State Park
Kozy Rest

To add to the list Cook Forest,Parker Dam(they added more pet sites)Sinnemahoningand pymatuning state parks.Are the ones we have stayed at.They were all very pet freindly. Pymatunings pet sites are well away from the main part of the park

There are more campgrounds that are very pet friendly than ones that do not want pets there...

The really absolute worst campground I have ever found for dogs is Prince Gallitzin State Park.

The rangers there have devised a complete list of where dogs are and are not allowed... They are like dog nazis!

They are unbelievably ridiculous about controlling every thing about your dogs...

You are not allowed to walk them on any roads except the ones in the pet loops... They only allow dogs on certain trails around the campground... Never seen anything like it...

The pet loops are in the loops that have very limited electric sites and are always booked... Try getting a pet site there through the year... They really new to add more pet stes, but I dont think that will ever happen...

Anyone else have any hoorible pets campgrounds? Or experienced PG State Park at all?

clear creek is pet friendly.they do watch very closely for leash laws and hard to let him run. dogs need freedom to run and play.they have a play ground for the kids.need one for pets too.

Kenshire Kampsites is pet friendly. I have stayed there many times with my dogs. They are located off RT 6 in Gaines, Pa on Pine Creek.

round top gettysburg pa. is a pet friendly,i take 3 house dogs along to camp on labor day weekend. been going there last past 5 years, they have a swiming pool,games, movie, hay-ride, music and your yard sale on your site.

Says they are pet friendly but aren't...
Evergreen Lake...allows pets but you cannot take them for a walk.

Sil's Campground (we actually went there before we owned a dog - I will note there were a lot of BIG dogs there, if you have a family member that is not fond of big dogs you may want to avoid)
