I have to think on this. The rates say "call for daily rates". And if my wife finds out where this is, she would say "since we are right there, we might as well go to Twin Grove." No argument here. Please post a review if you get there. thanx.

Twin Grove is definitely a nicer campground. We liked Jonestown because we were usually able to get in for last minute trips, even holidays, when Twin Grove is already sold out. It is also good for those early fall/ late spring trips when there isn't as much going on at Twin Grove.

We are back.

Jonestown AOK is open and under totally new ownership and management. The new owner also is an adjacent farmer so appears to have a real interest in the campground and the community.

From what we were told the previous owner did some serious damage to the campground on their way out. The pool has been damaged and all of the cable lines were cut at each site? Not to mention the maintenance items that were not being handled.

The current owners are actively make improvements. The contractors were staying onsite and making improvements each afternoon we were there.

Here is some pictures of work in progress that appears to include new water, sewer and electrical to each site, and stone was also on site for leveling when done:

Here is a picture of our site (just before we hooked up to leave today)

And some of the other sites

The owner we spoke with was nice, and was very visible in the campground. The amenities at this time other then the basic water, sewer and electric, are pretty much non existent. But the price was very reasonable ( under $100 for 3 nights) and for a family that has been cooped up for too long due to medical issues and job lay off, our weekend was just what the Dr ordered.

Under $100 for 3 nights? I don't care what other amenities you have, you can't go wrong with that. We just paid almost $200 for 3 nights. Saturday was full of activities, and the Chinese auction was nice on Sunday, but that's even more $. Thanx for the trip report.

Yup - I just confirmed with my husband - it was $84! And the kids inquired about mini golf and were told it was free (so they played)

We had a very nice lunch out on Saturday at The Brickerville House Family Restaurant http://brickervillehouserestaurant.com/ that was about $45 for 4 - so we still did quite well.

Oh and the same baked goods / veggie vendor that goes through Twin Grove came through Jonestown AOK - gotta love those whoopie pies!

The guy with the whoopie pies comes all the way out to Appalachian Campground in Shartlesville. We always look for him when we're in his area.

I just called to check rates. Camper sites $55/night!! And their pool is not currently up and running. Think we'll look elsewhere. think shakeno

That is crazy! The facility is definitely not deserving of $55 a night
