Trying out a new mountain pie recipe - 07/10/13 02:04 PM

I just recently found a recipe for a new kind of mountain pie. The cheesesteak mountain pie! Fry up some thin sliced steak sandwich meat, saute
some onion, add shredded cheese and pile it onto bread slices in a mountain pie maker. We'll be dipping in steak sandwich sauce. We'll let you know how they turn out!

They are good.

We use Texas toast for all our mountain pies. It seals better around the edges than regular bread.

These were yummy! Next time we'll add a little steak sauce to the inside of the mountain pie. And don't skimp on the cheese!

I have to admit, I don't have a mountain pie maker . . . yet . . . maybe I should put it on my birthday list?

Anyone have a brand they recommend or don't recommend?

one think you just want to make sure if that it is a cast iron pie maker. They last a lot longer than the others. We purchased ours at the local trailer dealer about 10 + years ago and a still working great.

You go girl!! Of course we ran several contests where you could choose a night at a campground, but I am assuming you are going for the biggy, right?
