re: state parks II

Chris: Greetings I thought this might be helpful to campingpa:

I just got back from an extended weekend at Gifford Pinchot State Park outside of Harrisburg, PA and it was great. I thought I might give you a review:

The campsite we had (114) was excellent - It and the ones near it 114-122 are the most popular in the park. I had to get their WED A.M. to get it, but it was worth paying 11 extra dollars for the extra night. It was large, (big enough for 3 hughe tents and 2 picnic tables) right on the lake and beautifully maintained.

The park is very nice, facilities in good shape and the rangers and other staff were friendly. Some cons - the bathrooms were only so - so as far as cleanliness goes. Some of the staff needed some briefing on some of the rules so that when questions are asked a good answer is given and the trail markers need to be kept better.

Over all it was wonderful and the price cant be beat 11 dollars weeknights, 14 weekends (higher for non-PA residents)

Come camping in PA!!!!

CampingPA:  Thanks for the info, Chris.
