2 slices of bread
pie filling (flavor of your choice)
butter
confectioners sugar
Butter 2 slices of bread. Place one slice (butter side down) in a pie
cooker you use over the fire. Add pie filling. Place the other slice of
bread over pie filling (butter side up) and cook over fire until bred is
brown. When done, place some confectioners sugar in a paper bag. Add the
pie, close bag and shake to coat bread.

Smores
(It wouldn't be
camping without these!)
1 chocolate bar (this is Pennsylvania, it better be Hershey's!)
2-3 Marshmallows
2 graham crackers
Toast marshmallows over coals. Break chocolate bar in half. Place on top of graham
cracker. Sandwich marshmallows between the chocolate bars and graham crackers.

Use a Nestle' Crunch bar instead of a
regular chocolate bar.
Don't forget to save some for the kids!

Apple Crisp
Peeled and sliced apples (enough to
fill dutch oven half way)
3/4 C. butter
3/4 C. dark brown sugar
1 1/4 C. flour
1/2 C. quick oats
1 T. cinnamon
Place apples in dutch oven. Combine brown sugar, flour, oats and cinnamon.
Cut butter into mixture. Spread mixture over the apples. Cover and bake
at approx. 350° for about 45 minutes or until apples are soft.

Banana Boat
1 banana
1 chocolate bar w/ almonds---you know
what brand:-)
3 marshmallows
peanutbutter (optional)
1 piece heavy-duty aluminum foil.
Shape foil into the shape of a boat. Peel banana and slice lengthwise.
Put banana into foil boat. Place chocolate bar on top of banana. If desired,
add a dollop of peanut butter on top of chocolate. Place marshmallows on top. Wrap
tightly. Place on coals and cook for approximately 10 mins. Serve immediately.
Caution, this will be very hot.

Dump Fruit Cobbler
This recipe can be used with any
combination of fruit and cake mixes. Experiment and see what your favorite
combination is. (Try cherries w/ chocolate cake, apples w/ yellow cake, peaches w/ white
cake.....the possibilities are endless)
butter
2 16 oz. cans of fruit pie filling (your choice)
1 box cake mix (your choice)
1/2 C. Water
Butter the inside and bottom of the lid of the dutch oven.
Pour the pie filling in the dutch oven. "Dump" in the cake mix.
Spread evenly. Dot top with butter. Pour the water on top. Place lid on dutch
oven. Put in coals. Shovel some coals on top of the lid.
"Bake" for approximately 30-45 mins. Test cake for doneness. If necessary,
place on coals checking in 10-15 mins.
